I live by my planner and my iPhone calendar. I write everything down, and I have notes everywhere. I, more often than not, stick to my schedule. This past weekend I took a last minute trip to Austin with a couple girlfriends, and we had the absolute best time. While on this mini getaway (‘mini’ being the operative word, seeing as we were there for a total of 15 hours), I realized it’s nice to not always stick to your routine. Of course, with work and meetings and deadlines, a schedule is absolutely necessary, but there is really something about being spontaneous and living in the moment. Try it.

I like order too but sometimes it is good to something out of the ordinary! I wish I lived in Houston, I’d definitely stop by!
I always find short trips can’t be too planned. Quick time frames sometimes make agendas feel like checklists and I always feel like i’m missing some of the local charm when there’s too much structure. That being said you definitely need to stay organized for some kinds of trips. Hope the event is fun! I’ll be there in spirit!

I totally agree. Occasional spontaneity is needed sometimes.
Sometimes the best things happen out of spontaneity…”on a whim” decisions aren’t usually my style (I’m an over-thinker) but every time I’ve done something spontaneous, it’s always the best decision!
