Bulls in a China Shop

A few weeks ago, Candace, Megan, and I went to the luxury tableware and home decor store, Lerant (5000 Westheimer Road, #114, near The Galleria) for a fun little photoshoot. Let me preface this post by saying the weather did not cooperate. I will say my hair DID look fantastic prior to leaving my house. However, the second I stepped foot outside, the humidity and rain took over, and let’s just say I looked like a frizzy mess. Aside from that, it was a fun morning with two of my favorite gals.

I’m convinced the ladies at Lerant, along with Rachel and Leah, all felt Megan, Candace, and I were on speed. Megan put it best when she said we sound like the micro machine man when we’re together. #YOLO, right?!

Anywho, back to the matter at hand. Lerant! Have you been in? My mom is obsessed with the store. She goes there whenever she needs a gift for someone. I had only been in once, but until our shoot day, I had never really gotten the chance to look around and browse. Wow. BEAUTIFUL things. I did feel like a bull in a china shop. Granted, we were in a china shop of sorts, but every time I turned or tried to pick something out, I was convinced everything would collapse on me and I’d break all the fancy plates.

Lerant has a great assortment of tableware, gifts, drinkware, accessories, and more. They also have a gift registry for you brides out there. Everywhere you turn there is something more stunning (and breakable!!) than the last thing you saw. It’s a special little shop and I highly recommend you checking it out if you haven’t yet.

Our ‘job’ was to each design a little place setting that suited our style and tastes. At first, I couldn’t figure out where to start or what to do, but THEN I stumbled upon a fabulous red placemat, and everything just kind of flowed from there. My home decor style takes on a modern-eclectic feel, and I felt red, gold, and black worked perfectly. As you see above, I chose a gold charger, white plates with gold and black details, gold flatware, and a black napkin. I think it came together pretty great if I do say so myself. Agree? Disagree?

Candace went with a beautifully elegant setting with various shades of gold, and Megan went with a cool Bohemian feel with brown, gold, and some fun accessories. Gold was our common theme if you couldn’t tell.

Pretty! Am I right or am I right?! Megan forgot a napkin, but who uses napkins anyway.

What are we doing here? Yeah, not sure. But, like I said, when we’re together, things are anything but boring!

A huge thanks to Leah Wilson for the beautiful photos, Rachel (The PR Boutique) for helping us coordinate this fun collaboration, and all the ladies at Lerant who let us make a mess and take over their store for a morning! Make sure to check out both Candace and Megan’s posts, too!

And the best part….wait for it…
