It’s now been over a year since I moved to Houston, and I truly have no clue where the past 13 months have gone. Last summer was all about settling into my new city, and while it was exciting, it also didn’t leave me that much time to relax and do everything I wanted to do. I’m looking very forward to the summer ahead for so many different reasons.
- I’ve always wanted to go on a picnic, complete with a basket filled with lunch, wine, and a big blanket, and this summer I’m making it happen.
- Whenever I bring fresh flowers into our apartment I am just so happy. I plan on making it a weekly occurrence.
- It is my goal to spend an entire day in bed, without doing an ounce of work. One of these days I’ll do it.
- In July, I will be heading to Napa (for my first time!) to celebrate my parent’s 35th anniversary, and I couldn’t be more excited.
- Matthew and I are moving (within Houston) in a few months, and soon enough I’ll need to start packing up.
- Many days will be spent on the lake this summer, and few things make me happier than that.
- It’s been too long since I’ve spent ample time in the kitchen; more cooking and baking will be taking place over the next couple months.
- I’ll be heading back to NYC a couple times for work and pleasure.
- Spring was jam packed, and I know fall is going to be the same. I’m going to take the summer to get very organized before things ramp back up.

Ohhhh, Napa! So fun! I was there about a month ago for a work trip–I wasn’t able to SEE much of Napa because I was working the whole weekend, but it was insanely gorgeous! I’d love to go back.
