Reflecting on Year One of Marriage

As I approach our one year anniversary (on Sunday), I’ve been feeling rather nostalgic of the most incredible weekend of my life.

When our wedding weekend was over, I wasn’t sad. When people asked if I wanted to redo it all over again, many were surprised when I said no. But I wasn’t sad and I didn’t want to redo it because it was everything I had hoped for and so SO much more. While nothing in life is perfect, I truly felt our wedding weekend was as close to perfect as it could possibly get, at least in my mind! I had (and still have) such incredible memories (and photos!) to look back on, and always will.

When I think about this past year, our first year of marriage, I honestly can’t say much has changed. Beyond the fact that Matthew and I now wear wedding bands and my last name is different (THAT took some getting used to!), that’s really about it.

Once the wedding was over and we were back from our ‘mini moon,’ life resumed fairly quickly back to normal. It was actually kind of nice not having to deal with wedding planning or ANY planning really (as much as I loved planning the wedding, it was nice to have a little breather). Matthew and I settled in quite well to our ‘new’ married life.

To my hubby (not sure he’ll even see this because I don’t think he reads my blog on the regular!!), thank you for being the best husband and man I could ever ask for. I’m lucky I’m yours. Happy 1 year. Here’s to many many more.
