recharge and reboot

There are few things that truly relax me and get me in a ‘zen-like’ mindset. Yesterday I was feeling a bit overwhelmed and realized I needed to take a time out. In the middle of the day, I decided to not look at my emails or do any work for 30 minutes. I know this doesn’t seem like a long time, but it felt like an eternity and it felt wonderful. I sat down, turned on my favorite Pandora station, and gave myself a manicure. It relaxed me and once I was done, I was ready to get back to my (what felt like) endless hours of work. I then had an event to go to last night, and I knew I needed to wake myself up and snap out of my tired state of mind. When I make a point to not rush as I’m getting ready, it makes all the difference. I spent ample time on each part of my makeup, and I didn’t have to speed through the process. Once I was dressed and ready to walk out the door, I felt amped up and ready to go. Sometimes you just need to take time for yourself to truly recharge.

And…

I’m so excited because today I’m the It Girl on The Glossy Life! Make sure to check out my fun feature on Alyssa’s fabulous blog.

Loved your post on the Glossy Life and I love your blog! It’s so important to relax and recharge sometimes…I forget to do this for myself and it definitely takes a toll on me. Nothing relaxes me more than a trip to the spa, after a pedicure and massage I’m ready to take on the day! Following you via FB 🙂

Such a good point sometimes you really do need to just take a step back and take some time for yourself. I know I could use it every now and again too!
