Five Things You Probably Don't Know About Me

You have probably all seen this flying around the blogger world the past couple months. The sweet Lauren from PR Blonde tagged me a while back for this, and I haven’t had a chance to get to it. I’m very excited to share with you all today five things you probably don’t know about me.

map of USA

1. I’ve lived in six different states (Florida, Texas, Ohio, Illinois, New York, and Massachusetts), but two of those places I’ve lived twice (Florida and Ohio), and one of those places I’ve lived three times (Texas). I’ve been asked many times if my dad is in the army. No, he is not; he’s in the radio networking industry. Due to these moves, I went to three different high schools. I also went to three different colleges. I’ve moved around a lot, to say the least.

no horses

2. I absolutely loathe horses. When I was at summer camp back in 4th grade, I rode a horse on what was apparently its day off. Well, let’s just say the horse wasn’t having it. He went a bit crazy and I fell off and got hurt. Ever since then I will not get back on a horse. You probably couldn’t pay me to get back on one. While living in New York, I would even get a bit nervous walking by the horse and buggies lined up around Central Park.

meatballs

3. I could eat red meat everyday (but I don’t because I know it’s not healthy to eat all the time). My favorite food is, hands down, meatballs, followed by meatloaf and brisket. I sometimes have to think when I last had red meat so I don’t overdo it.

21st Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation's Oscar Viewing Party

4. I started working for supermodel and philanthropist Petra Nemcova when I was living in New York, and I still work for her here in Houston, along with my freelance writing. In my 27 years of life, I’ve never met a more inspiring woman.

Matthew

5. I am currently dating my elementary school sweetheart. No, we have not been together all this time, but we did first meet in elementary school, and dated (I have proof in my diary from 1996). We lost touch and reconnected a little over a year and a half ago. I now live with him in Houston.

Hope you enjoyed! Now I’m going to tag some lovely ladies, who also happen to be fellow Houston bloggers and friends of mine. It’s your turn, Monica, Brooke, Bethany, Katy, and Lauren!

I love this! I’ve never lived in Texas but I could so see myself doing do. I have family in Houston and we go to Dallas all the time. I love it there. I could eat red meat every single day. What do you mean it isn’t good to do that? 😉 Give me a burger at lunch every day and a steak for dinner and I’m a happy woman. OH, not fond of horses myself. Had a bad experience in Colorado one summer. I’m actually talking about that in one of my upcoming posts!

  20. Sounds like you have an amazing job! I love red meat too (especially meat balls) but like you, try not to eat too much of it. That is so cute that you and your man had a love connection in elementary school 🙂

  26. Ok I know I’m a little late to the scene (blame my busy work schedule last week) but you know that I absolutely love these posts! I can’t believe you’ve moved that many times! I lived in the same house from when I was 5 to when I moved out at 19. I love that you’re dating your elementary school sweetheart, that’s so amazing!

I’d love to hear more about your freelance writing career- I majored in English and I’m a big writer, please email me, I’d love more insight and if you have some, advice! :]

I think it’s darling that you’re with a man you’ve known since childhood. The picture from back then is so cute. You are very lucky to be able to look to your past and see the love back then and then how it has matured now. I definitely cracked a smile regarding the “1996 diary” comment. I also kept a diary, several actually, lol!
