Fall Booties (plus a drybar giveaway)

I know I know, I’ve been totally MIA. I’m blaming it on the move and wedding doins (finally picked a date, yes!). Have no fear, though, because I’m BACK. Our loft isn’t done yet, unless you consider boxes and moving blankets the interior design rage these days, but we are living there, and couldn’t be more excited. I’ve learned throughout this process (who are we kidding I’ve always known this) I’m not the most patient creature on the planet. I want everything done yesterday, but the fiance has promised all the little things (knobs on the kitchen cabinets, paint touch ups, some necessary furniture, etc) will all be done within the next month. So, this has been a test of my (lack of) patience. Wish me luck.

Now, let’s get down to business. It may not officially be fall, but in my book, fall is here, front and center (houston humidity and all). I rocked booties for the first time this season Sunday night, and I was over the moon excited about it. Yes, over. the. freaking. moon. In terms of footwear for this beloved season ahead, I already know I’m going to be living in booties. They are comfortable, stylish, and can easily transition from day to night. I also like that so many of them take on an edgier look, which is totally my jam. Let’s take a look at some of my favorites, which I’d like to get my hands on, well, yesterday (see, I told you I have no patience).

Fall-Booties

western inspired and slouchy: Topshop/buckles that add a bit of edge: Steve Madden/croc-embossed and sexy: Shopbop/soft suede with a back zip: Urban Outfitters/pebbled leather and a stacked heel: Nordstrom/round toe with details: DSW/smooth leather and a hidden platform: Intermix

If it were up to me and if money grew on trees, I would be getting my hair blown every other day. Not even kidding you. I hate doing my hair, yet I only want my hair to be long, so that poses a problem. Lucky for people like me who love getting their hair blown, there is drybar to help with that. I’m sure all of you Houstonians know by now, but drybar is opening in Uptown Park FRIDAY. I kind of can’t contain my excitement. So, to celebrate the opening of this incredible place, I’ve partnered with drybar for a totally awesome giveaway. Enter to win a FREE (yes, FREE) blowout at drybar in Houston (for those of you who don’t live in Houston, this is a great reason for you to plan a trip, of course). All you have to do is the following:

Follow from prosecco to plaid on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram and let me know you did so in the comments below or via email: Julie@fromproseccotoplaid.com.

Follow drybar on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram and let me know you did so in the comments below or via email: Julie@fromproseccotoplaid.com.

Winner will be selected randomly and announced on Friday!

Good luck.

P.S. I’ll let you in on a little secret – if you keep tabs on The Chic Sheet this week, there’s a good chance you’ll have another opportunity to enter for a free hairblow.

I love booties for fall! I don’t usually opt for ones with a heel because they’re not TOTALLY practical with my commute and all, but maybe I will this year. They’re so cute!

Um, hello, wishing I was in Houston! Would it be aggressive to enter the contest and plan the trip around a blowout that I may or may not win!? I think so.
