20 Healthy Snacks You’ll Actually WANT to Eat

healthy-afternoon-snack-ideas

I’m a self proclaimed snack-aholic, folks. Since I mostly work from home, I find myself snacking probably more often than I should or would if I were in an office setting all day everyday. When I can just walk downstairs to the kitchen when I need a little break, it makes things all too easy to nosh. Since this is the case, it’a good for me to always have healthy (yet still GOOD) snacks on hand at all times. And not JUST the individual items, but the combinations of the snacks together. Below you’ll find 20 healthy (a few are more on the side of healthy-ish, but everything in moderation, am I right?!) and delicious afternoon snack ideas (most of which I’ve made/tried, but a few I haven’t yet, but plan to soon!). Now, I don’t always have each of these items in my house at all times, but I do try to have at least a few on hand every week. Now, what’s your go to afternoon snack? Would love to hear in the comments below!

  1. Baby carrots and Trader Joe’s Spinach and Kale Greek Yogurt Dip
  2. Avocado on Ezekiel Toast (I also put some chili powder on it to spice things up a bit!)
  3. Kidney Bean Mash (rinse and drain kidney beans, mash them up with a fork or by mashing them in a ziploc bag, add seasoning!) on on Crackers (I’ve been loving Blue Diamond Almond Nut Thins)
  4. Quinoa Pizza Balls (I haven’t made these, but love the idea of them and plan to try soon)
  5. Almond Butter with an Apple or Banana
  6. Cucumber Slices with Kite Hill Truffle Dill and Chive Spread (I hate dill, but love this…strange, I know!) Marla got me into this one!
  7. Chickpea Tuna (mash up chickpeas/garbanzo beans, add anything you like – I used some tahini, whole grain mustard, garlic powder, pepper, a dash of olive oil, and a few random other seasonings) on Cucumber Slices (if you follow me on Snapchat (jlb4567) you saw the other day I made this and was going crazy over it…so good!)
  8. Crunchy Paprika Chickpeas
  9. Spiced Almonds (bake almonds with a bit of olive oil and any seasoning you like!)
  10. Chickpea Nuggets with Mustard (or really any healthy dip)
  11. Pizza Crackers
  12. Salt and Pepper Nuts (similar to above with the almonds, but just using salt and pepper and a mix of nuts)
  13. Spicy Roasted Chickpeas (also similar to the above crunchy chickpea recipe, but spicy!!)
  14. Cherry Tomatoes with Olives and Basil
  15. Cheesy Courgette Crisps
  16. Avocado and Corn Salsa
  17. Cheese and Chive Bites
  18. Tomatoes with Hummus and Olives
